Interview: The Bayou BrosThe Bayou Bros are Elmo Stephens and Phenix Crowley, DJs and producers from Baton Rouge, Lousiana. They're best known for a string of cult classic 12"s released via their own Reach Records, as well as a pair of compilations highlighting the broader Louisiana breaks scene via Of The Mind Recordings. This interview took place over a video call - Elmo joining from around Baton Rouge, Phenix from Central Florida - late this past November.

Interview: Patrick Flegel / Cindy LeePatrick Flegel is a Canadian musician, now living in Durham, North Carolina. They’re known as the former front-person of the band Women, as well as for solo recordings and drag performance under the name Cindy Lee. Patrick and I chatted over the phone, reconnecting several times after losing signal, as they were on their way to Denver for Cindy Lee’s 11/10/23 show at the Hi-Dive.

Interview: SeafoamBrian Cavender is a producer from Denver, Colorado. He’s best known for his early 2000s recordings as Seafoam (released via Guidance Recordings, Straylight Recordings, and Lo-Rise Recordings), as well as numerous recent works released on contemporary labels from around the world (including Denver’s own Deep Club). He participated in the early 2000s Denver musical collective milehighhouse, along with family members Doug (ILK), Matt (The Missing Link), and Brad (Space Is The Place) Cavender.

In addition to operating Hotflush Recordings, he’s best known for his SUB:STANCE residency at Berghain, as well as his 2010 album Triangulation and 2011 DJ-Kicks mix. This interview took place shortly before his SUB:STANCE set performed at Denver’s Black Box this past week.
